Approach

Diagnose, build, run.

Engagements follow the same three phases. Some clients need a defined project, some need ongoing support, and many need both: a build phase followed by monthly running.

The three phases

  1. 01 · Diagnose

    Typically 2–3 weeks

    Understand the current state.

We look at how finance and data work today and what management needs to know.

    We map

    • Systems
    • Data flows
    • The close
    • Reporting
    • Existing models
    • Decision requirements
  2. 02 · Build

Milestone-based, over several weeks depending on scope

Put the working assets in place.

We fix what needs fixing and build what the diagnostic calls for, in agreed milestones.

    We build

    • Books and controls, where necessary
    • Models
    • Reporting structure
    • Data layer
    • Forecasting
    • Workflows
    • Automation
  3. 03 · Run

    Monthly, where useful

    Keep it working.

Where it helps, we operate and improve what was built.

    For example

    • Close
    • Reporting
    • Forecasting
    • KPI monitoring
    • Board preparation
    • Workflow maintenance

Engagements

Project, ongoing support, or both.

A defined project has an agreed scope and milestones: for example, rebuilding the chart of accounts and close process, building a driver-based model or valuation analysis, or setting up a KPI framework and reporting pack.

Ongoing support covers recurring work: the monthly close, management reporting, forecast updates and board preparation.

Both is common. A build phase puts the foundations in place, then monthly running keeps them current. Over time, your team can take more of the running in-house, using the assets we built.

Scope and fees are agreed after the diagnostic conversation, in writing, before work starts. Discuss a project.

Discuss a project.

Tell us what you are trying to fix or build: a close that takes too long, a forecast nobody trusts, a valuation question, reporting that is assembled by hand. We will reply with how we would approach it.
